Lori Sweeney

Artist

My artwork is most often based in realism. Local wildlife and nature are my inspiration. My materials and medium change and through years of concentrated work in watercolor, printmaking and felting often times my subject matter and materials overlap. I have worked for over 35 years as a High School Art Teacher and have been part of the NH Printmakers group for many years.

Dry felting is the process of using different sized needles that have tiny barbs on the end. The needles are pushed repeatedly through the fibers locking them together to manipulate the wool and colors to create realistic animal forms. My feltings are made from 100% wool and each is handcrafted by mixing colors, creating textures, patterns and forms of life-like local animals.
